A group of young politicians come to Cureña, a town in northern Castile, to campaign for votes. There they meet two neighbors who hate each other and never speak. One of these is Cayo, a soft-spoken older man full of ancestral wisdom. The encounter between the world of the young city politicians and that of Sr. Cayo is the necessary counterpoint to contrast two cultures ignorant of each other.
